Historical Impact

Ahead of the holiday season, our DaycosKids4Good group decided it was the perfect time to take action against hunger in our community.

Two dedicated groups of volunteers stationed themselves at local grocery stores, handing out shopping bags and lists of the pantry’s most needed items. Thanks to their hard work and the community’s generosity, they successfully collected nine shopping carts of nonperishable food items to help those in need!

Daycos was excited to be a part of Midwest Bank’s annual Thanksgiving Meal project this week!

Volunteers from Daycos and Midwest Bank came together to pack and deliver 118 Thanksgiving meals for local families in need. This effort is funded by several area businesses and the Daycos Community Investment Committee.

Rolling strikes (and gutter balls) to feed those in need at the Annual Salvation Army Souper Bowl! Daycos employees supported this impactful fundraiser by raising $1,321.50 to help those in need.

Our newly formed DaycosKids4Good hit the streets and took part in delivering Meals on Wheels. Each lunch delivered came with a smile and new understanding that caring for others is one of the best ways to build community.

This week we sponsored and participated in the UNL Extension Office’s junior high Intraventure Day. Kids came together and developed products and services and pitched their business plans to a panel of judges.

A committee of employees organized an engaging philanthropic event called “Pack for Purpose.” This event had teams racing through our office-relay style, hunting for items to pack into tote bags and small suitcases. Each bag contained toiletries, essential items, journals, activity books, and stuffed animals.

Along with bragging rights, the two teams who packed the most were given the opportunity to help deliver them to two local organizations, Bright Horizons and Building Blocks Foster Care.

Daycos took part in the 2024 Norfolk Area Big Give. As in previous years, we sold and delivered Give-O-Grams to raise money for local nonprofits.

And in typical Daycos fashion, we had to have some fun with it, dressing up in crazy costumes. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who generously donated, delivered and purchased Give-O-Grams. Your support and participation enabled us to raise an impressive $2,395 for area nonprofits.

In recent years, Daycos4Good has spearheaded numerous employee-led initiatives within the community. And this December, we are excited to continue our tradition of giving back to spread joy this holiday season. All Daycos employees will join small groups, each empowered with a designated budget and an hour to go out in the community and creatively make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Daycos managed to pack 3,456 meals in 1 hour today while volunteering at Mercy Meals!

There may have been smack talk between the two lines, and some cheers made up to keep our enthusiasm high as we worked – wouldn’t have it any other way!

We got to give back, include some of our Daycos kids along the way – and make some memories and have some laughs.

Fun afternoon for sure! #GiveBackItsWhatWeDo
