At Daycos, growth isn’t just something we talk about. Development is an active part of our culture, and we live it every day. Today, we’re proud to celebrate one of our own: Scott Canary, Director of Business Development, who recently passed his Certified Relocation Professional® (CRP®) exam.
Gaining a Deeper Perspective
When reflecting on his journey, Scott shared that his biggest takeaway was a new appreciation for just how much detail goes into every relocation:
“From policy development to transferee experience, I gained a holistic view of how each stakeholder contributes to a successful move.”
That depth of understanding is more than just theory. It’s shaping the way Scott works with clients.
Tackling Complex Challenges
Earning the CRP® isn’t for the faint of heart. Scott admitted the most challenging topics were the complexities of tax and real estate regulations:
“There are so many possible scenarios to consider. Creating policies that work universally is no easy task.”
It’s this kind of insight that ensures Daycos continues to guide clients with confidence, even through the most complicated situations.
A Stronger Voice for Clients
With the CRP® designation, Scott feels better equipped to lead conversations with prospective clients:
“The certification broadened my scope beyond my background, which has been heavily HHG focused. I can now approach client discussions with a stronger foundation and more strategic insight into policy and benchmarking.”
Translation? When you work with Scott, you’re not just getting experience, you’re getting foresight.
Growth Outside the Comfort Zone
Balancing work, family, and a rigorous study schedule wasn’t easy. But Scott says that’s exactly where the growth happened:
“It had been a long time since I had to study for an exam. It reminded me that growth often happens outside our comfort zones — and that it’s never too late to push yourself further.”
Looking Ahead
Scott isn’t stopping here. He’s already jumped into the first-ever WERC Momentum Mentorship Program, a project-based initiative focused on problem solving. He’s also exploring personal coaching opportunities through the Daycos personal development program, a benefit available to all employees.
Advice for Future CRP® Candidates
For those considering the exam, Scott offers this advice:
“Join a regional relocation council study group. Start early, study consistently, and connect with others who are taking the exam. And if possible, partner with study buddies from different industry verticals — their perspectives are invaluable.”
Community Support
Scott credits Daycos’ culture of support and encouragement for making this milestone possible:
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Daycos. The company puts such an emphasis on both personal and professional growth.”
This achievement was also supported in part by a $500 Industry Training Program (ITP) award from the Global Moving Foundation (formerly the Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund), recognizing his commitment to advancing in the mobility industry.
Scott also expressed gratitude to the CMARC Study Group and his mentors across the mobility community for sharing their wisdom along the way.
At Daycos, we believe success multiplies when we invest in our people. Congratulations, Scott — your achievement is proof that growth is a journey worth taking.
