In the dynamic world of the moving & storage industry, there are shining examples of compassion and community service. Beyond the seasonal goodwill during the holidays, there is a year-round commitment by remarkable moving companies to create a positive impact. We are thrilled to spotlight and reflect on these various heartwarming “do good” narratives within our industry from the past year.

TMM: Serving with Heart for 15 Years

TMM has set a remarkable example by dedicating time to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities every month. Their commitment extends over an impressive 15 years. As a part of this project, they not only provided dinners for families, but also fostered a warm sense of community within the house.

Select Van Moving Company: Spreading Joy and Warmth

Demonstrating a unique approach to generosity, Select Van Moving Company offers free container services to non-profit organizations in Omaha. This allows nonprofits to keep a container at their location, facilitating safe collection and storage of donated items throughout the holiday season. Select Van also orchestrates the pickup and transport of filled containers to the nonprofits’ designated distribution centers.

Additionally, their company is involved in loading portable storage units with coats for the NP Dodge Real Estate coat drive, and they are engaged in a partnership with the Nebraska Chapter of Komen for the Cure. These initiatives showcase a deep commitment to making a positive community impact.

DN Van Lines: Baking Hope for Thanksgiving

DN Van Lines supports the annual Pie in the Sky organization, contributing to the “World’s Greatest Bake Sale.” Over 150 chefs and establishments come together to bake and donate Thanksgiving pies, raising critical funding for community nutrition programs. DN Van Lines’ involvement reflects a dedication to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Cornerstone Moving & Storage: Spreading Cheer During the Holidays

The spirit of giving is embraced by Cornerstone Moving & Storage as they engage in Christmas shopping for Toys for Tots. Their thoughtful approach involves purchasing many gifts at Walmart for different age groups and donating them to a local sheriff’s office for the Toys for Tots toy drive. Cornerstone also provides Thanksgiving meals to their employees and families. Pictured in the photo from left to right are Cornerstones’ employees: Gary Hicks (Warehouse Manager), Caleb McCartney (General Manager), and Chuck Bailey (Owner).

Conser Moving and Storage of Jacksonville: Building a Culture of Giving

At Conser Moving, their culture is rooted in the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) mentality. Through their charity, ‘Conser Team Cares,’ they have established strong ties with key nonprofits, ensuring consistent support throughout the year. Their comprehensive approach includes quarterly activities such as food bank drop-offs, blood drives, dinners for the Ronald McDonald House, and teaching monthly career development classes at Operation New Hope.

Throughout 2023, Conser Moving participated in the following events:

  • Lighthouse 5K benefitting Kids Bridge Visitation Center.
  • Valentine’s donations to Wolfson Childrens Hospital.
  • The Friendship Project Valentines Day Party.
  • Beach cleanup at Jacksonville Beach.
  • Hosted 7 students for career growth through navigators.org
  • Donated over $6,000 in school supplies to two Title 1 schools (Love Groove Elementary & Ruth N. Upson Elementary) in Duval County, Florida.
  • P.A.C.E. Center for Girls Career Day participation.
  • Donated over 36 gifts to senior citizens through the City of Jacksonville, Florida Government

As they look forward to 2024, Conser Moving is set to continue their community involvement with programs dedicated to hiring military personnel and offering internship opportunities for young adults. Their dedication to being an integral part of the Jacksonville community demonstrates a commitment to the values of their T.E.A.M. mindset.

In retrospect, a lot of good is done in the moving & storage industry on a yearly basis. All these initiatives highlight the positive impact that a moving company can have beyond simply transporting goods.
